Sisters Steffini Bethea and Kellie Owens, owners of The Purple Corkscrew Wine Room & Lounge, are now embarking on a new venture! “We always wanted to open a wine shop so when the space became available in the building adjacent to our existing business we knew it was perfect timing.” The Purple Corkscrew Wine Shop will feature up to 100 boutique wines and select craft beers for the Emory and Druid Hills locals. The anticipated opening date is November 25, 2013 just in time for the holidays and Beaujolais season! Stay tuned for more details….
Because on March 23rd, Atlanta wine bar the Purple Corkscrew is holding a special beer tasting for our pals that enjoy a good brew. But wait, it gets better! Our co-conspirators are none other than Michigan’s very own Bell’s Brewery. They’ve been open since 1985, so you know they haven’t just gotten beer brewing down to a science; they’ve gotten it down to an art. Come on down and take your pick of a pale ale, an IPA, a stout or a porter to wet your whistle. Or heck, try them all!
Still not enough beer for you? Want a snack to go with your suds? Our friends just down the street at Bad Dog Taqueria have got you covered. They’ll be serving up all kinds of nibbles—including corned beef, brisket and some wickedly addictive beer-battered onion rings—to pair with whatever you’re drinking. They’re good ‘til they’re gone!
The tasting will be from 6-9 pm on Saturday, March 23rd and it’s what’s called a “rolling tasting”, so if you want to be fashionably late we won’t judge. Remember to RSVP by giving us a ring at (404) 373-3263 to give us a rough idea (within 30 minutes) of when you’ll be arriving so we can have a frosty one waiting for you when you get there. Or, you can stop by our location at 1445 Oxford Road Northeast Atlanta, GA 30307 during our evening business hours (4-10 pm Monday-Thursday, 4-11 pm Fridays and 5-11 pm Saturdays).
